What Should You Consider While Choosing the Best Clipping Path Service Provider?

The factors to consider while choosing the best clipping path service provider are the reputation, service quality, custom solution, turnaround time, project security, communication, and pricing.

Reputation: A reliable company has a reputation built for high-quality service, clear communication, ethical practices, transparency, and professionalism to ensure customer satisfaction. It is equipped with an expert photo editors team with extensive skills, the latest software, equipment, and necessary resources. Check formal client testimonials and reviews on Trustpilot, Sitejabber, or Google Reviews-like platforms to learn about their experience on complex projects, attention to detail, or how strictly the company maintains the deadline.

Service Quality: Service quality is the prominent factor in choosing a clipping path service provider. Check company portfolios, quality of work, used software, technology, and techniques of clipping and editing for professional-looking images. An efficient clipping path service provider uses professional editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity Designer, PhotoDirector, and other software. Try their free trial option or ask them to provide you with sample work to evaluate the skills and expertise of their in-house team. Know their work process, revisions policies, brands, and projects they have collaborated with.

Also, inquire about the project management tools they use to track large-scale projects. Post-production companies use Trello, Asana, Basecamp, Nifty, or Hive to organize, track progress, provide updates, and manage deadlines.

Custom Solution: Professional clipping companies offer customized and flexible solutions for businesses and individuals to establish their brands. Customization allows you to create high-quality photos with uniqueness to capture viewers’ attention. Ask your chosen companies about their tailored services and the cost calculation process.

Turnaround Time: The post-production industry has relentless work pressure for its contribution to visual content. Each company’s turnaround time operates at a different pace. Learn your preferred clipping agency’s turnaround time, how fast they can deliver, the cost for fast services, etc.

Project Security: All clipping path companies should protect clients’ intellectual data during taking charge, processing, handling, and even certain periods after delivery. Reliable companies offer clear guidelines about clients’ confidential data. Offshore Clipping signs NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with clients. Learn your preferred company terms and conditions of the contract, their quality control process, project manager role, etc.

Communication: Understand how supportive the company’s client service team is. Quality customer service begins with a client-friendly conversation over the phone, through live chat, email, or online form. An outsourcing clipping path service agency values its customers’ concerns and solves them. Renowned companies provide 24/7 customer support demonstrating speedy response and clear communication.

Pricing: The best clipping path service provider has a transparent and competitive pricing structure for the users. Pricing categories differ by image, per project, or specific service category. Considering project volume, complexity, and commercial requirements, the company offers bulk discounts, promotional offer prices, and festive-specific cut prices.

What Additional Things Should You Keep in Mind Before Hiring a Clipping Path Company?

These are the additional things you should keep in mind before hiring a clipping path service provider company.

  • Free Trial or Editing Sample. A good or reputed clipping path service company offers a free trial option or editing samples so that customers can evaluate the quality and proficiency of their work before committing to their service. Instead of simply claiming to be the expert, they prefer to demonstrate their abilities. So, choose the service provider who offers the free trial option to see whether their service meets your standards and expectations.
  • Location and Time Zone. Considering the location and time zone is important to ensure effective communication. If you and the service providers are from different time zones, real-time communication may not always be possible. However, if the service provider offers a 24/7 communication facility, then the differences in time zones won’t be a big deal. Also, considering the location is important if you need to provide physical copies of your images to the clipping path company. If the work is totally online based, you can choose a service provider from any location.
  • Flexibility in File Formats. A professional clipping path service provider is proficient enough at delivering clipping paths in various file formats. Depending on the need and use of the clipping paths, such as print media, digital advertisement, eCommerce store, product design, and so on, they should be capable of providing JPEG, TIFF, PNG, or PSD files.
  • Payment Methods. To avoid issues regarding payments, check whether the service providers support multiple payment methods. A reputed company offers secure payment gateways to make the transaction process convenient, which include credit cards, debit cards, wire transfers, PayPal, and so on.
  • Legal Agreements and Contracts. Another important factor is to check out the terms and conditions of the contract. A reputed and trustworthy clipping path company provides clear and concise legal agreements to ensure both parties are on the same page regarding the expectations of the projects.
  • Scalability. Considering scalability is important in case you plan for a long-term commitment. Check whether the company is capable of handling bulk orders or large projects while maintaining turnaround time and the quality of their service.
  • Other Post-Processing Services. Apart from clipping paths, you may need other services such as background removal, photo masking, photo retouching, color correction, shadow formation, manipulation, or other services. So, choose a service provider that offers a comprehensive photo editing service so that you can manage your projects from a single provider.
  • Cultural Understanding. If your project contains cultural references, then it’s best to take the cultural knowledge of the service providers regarding your target audience into consideration. This will help to ensure the edited photos align with the audience’s perspectives and do not create any misunderstanding or controversy.

Why is It Important to Choose the Right Clipping Path Service Provider?

Choosing the right clipping path service provider is important for saving time and resources, getting consistent high-quality outputs on time, and value for money.

Post Processing Photography: Importance, Processes, Effects, and Mistakes to Avoid https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/post-processing-photography/ https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/post-processing-photography/#respond Wed, 01 Jan 2025 08:23:23 +0000 https://offshoreclipping.com/?p=75754 Post processing photography is a subset of post production photography that covers a broader range of photo transformation works—editing, retouching, background removal, photo resizing, and eliminating imperfections performed through a photo editing software.

Often interchangeably used with photo editing or post production photography, photo post processing enhances the visual appeal and professionalism of an image.

Five processes are crucial for achieving success in post processing photography: photo culling, basic editing, advanced editing, creative editing, and photo exporting. If not maintained well, chances of low-resolution photos increase, which hampers the brand’s reputation as well as conversions.

Professional photographers, solopreneurs, and brands of all sizes assign professional photo editing companies to acquire precise and skillful work within the required time and avoid any photo editing mistakes.

What is Post Processing in Photography?

Post processing in photography refers to image-enhancing techniques such as retouching, adjustment, color correction, color grading, and shadow creation applied to the raw photos. Post processing photography is crucial for photographers and ecommerce brands as it allows photographers to refine their images to match their artistic vision and correct any technical issues that may have occurred during shooting and ecommerce brands to drive more sales.

Post processing and photo editing are frequently used interchangeably, even by photographers, photo editors, professional retouchers, and ecommerce photography studio professionals. Image post processing covers a vast area of improvements for images, for example, background removal, image editing, color correction, shadow creation, contrast, sharpness, and so forth, whereas photo editing is limited to a few aspects of clarity, sharpness, and quality.

Post processing is not just about correcting mistakes, it also allows photographers to express their creativity. By manipulating elements within an image, photographers can create unique styles and deliver impactful visual narratives. While post processing can significantly enhance an image, it is essential to start with a well-captured photo, as severe flaws may be difficult to rectify even with advanced editing techniques.

Professional photographers are skilled in post processing their photos, but they often turn to specialized clipping path or photo editing service providers for two key reasons: they understand the intricacy of photo post processing, and outsourcing these tasks allows them to focus on photography sessions and client meetings while ensuring bulk editing is completed on time.

Why is Post-processing Important in Photography?

Post-processing is important in photography for enhancing image quality, attracting the target audience, and boosting ROI. During image processing, a photo retoucher polishes the raw image files, adjusts color, contrast, and shadow exposure, sharpens the image, reduces noise, and removes distractions. Once finished, the final files are naturally attractive, high-end, and fulfill brand goals. Other importance of photography post-processing includes as follows.

1. Upgrades Image Appearance

Post-processing photography upgrades image appearance by removing flaws, distractions, inconsistent lighting, and shadow conditions. As a result, image quality, sharpness, and appeal to viewers increase.

2. Spruce up the Subject

How Important is Post-processing an Image to Professional Photographers?

A 2023 report by Business Research Insights on Photo Editing Software Market Report Overview shows that the global photo editing software market size will be $108 billion in 2024. Each update of software brings the newest technology and solutions. Professional photographers, therefore, collaborate with image enhancers for bulk editing to satisfy clients and enrich their portfolios. Here are some more reasons why professional photographers emphasize image post-processing.

  • Post-processing works such as color correction and grading, composition technique, filter, and graphics convey photographers’ creativity and unique style, deliver goal-oriented messages, and distinguish them from their peers.
  • By retouching, a retoucher polishes raw photos. He skillfully solves technical issues like exposure, grain/noise, contrast, and color imbalance and embellishes the image, assisting photographers build their brands.
  • Photo post-processing assists photographers in maintaining their busy schedule during peak seasons and times such as autumn, winter, christmas, weddings, etc. While their image editors batch process images to buy some time, photographers ensure uniform quality work and on-time delivery.
  • Photographers ensure high-end photos with resolution and quality, which pique viewers’ interest. Post-processing immensely helps e-commerce photographers in driving traffic.

How Much Do Professional Photographers Rely on Post-processing?

Professional photographers enormously rely on post-processing to create visually striking photos that drive attention and conversion for a business. A slight retouching to each published online photo technically upgrades overall image resolution and appearance. Good photos bring quality traffic and increase viewers’ perception and confidence, driving them to interact with brands. Therefore, professional photographers depend on post processing after the photoshoot.

During shooting, photographers ensure optimal accuracy. They fine-tune the frame, camera angle, settings, subject placements, background, and props. Still, the images may receive lighting conditions or reflections or some sort of imperfections. So, photographers implement photo enhancement techniques for the following reasons.

  • To readjust the incorrect photo size
  • To remove errors and distractions
  • For altering of mismatching background
  • In sharpening the blurry, and grainy images
  • Make corrections on low or high lighting condition

Why is Post-processing Important in E-commerce Business?

Post-processing is important in ecommerce business for 3 main reasons—it improves image quality, creates a positive perception of the product, and contributes to conversion.

Processed photos show products online in pristine & refined condition. Reflection of the product in real-world appearance boosts buyers’ engagement rate and session duration.

When an ecommerce website publishes high-quality edited photos, satisfying the rest of the ranking factors, it experiences a boost in the number of visitors, interactions, and conversions. Google positively takes these changes in metrics and rewards the brand with a higher ranking. As a result, that e-commerce business drives a more niche-specific audience.

Why Do E-commerce Business Owners Need Professional Photo Editing for Their Product Images?

E-commerce business owners need photo editing for 3 main reasons—to enhance product image, represent the product’s quality, and boost web-store sales. A 2024 blog published in BusinessDhasher displays that 95% of product pages with photos receive more organic traffic than those without.

To stand out with unique products, personalized shopping experience, and minimized costs, online stores depend on professional photo editing companies which benefit them in the following ways.

  • Professional image editing aligns with the best practices of e-commerce product image guidelines.
  • It retains a brand’s professionalism and consistency with high-end edited photos.
  • Photo editing influences a buyer’s perception of a brand’s professionalism, reputation, and consistency.
  • It persuades prospective buyers & increases repeat clients.
  • Post-processing navigates interacting buyers to click add to cart.
  • It reduces product return rates for ecommerce businesses.

Project completion Time Depending on the project volume, the post-production photography time frame varies between a few hours to around 3 (or more) days. Image processing may vary between a few minutes to a few hours based on project volume, level of detail, and client requirements.

What is the Difference Between Photo-processing and Photo Editing?

The key difference between photo processing and photo editing is the depth of adjustments. Photo-processing is to implement different types of photo editing techniques to improve the quality and resolution of the photos. In simple terms, image post-processing is mandatory and image editing is optional for every image.

Image post-processing is a comprehensive workflow. It includes software-made manipulation techniques and technical adjustments, for example, photo editing, retouching, background removal, shadow creation, color correction, and a bunch of others. Each type of work has different working patterns. Based on the image requirement, a photo enhancer ensures that the finally processed version aligns with the commercial intentions of ecommerce, advertising, photography portfolio, etc.

What is the Difference Between Pre-processing and Post-processing in Photography?

The primary difference between pre-processing and post-processing is the nature of work: pre-processing focuses on preparing the images for processing and post-processing focuses on image enhancement to attract viewers.

In photography, pre-processing is a foundational step for image processing. It mostly deals with raw photos, whereas post-processing is the process of applying different editing techniques on photos so that the quality and resolution of images improve. Once the photos are well-edited, they are ready to export and distribute.

What are the Post-processing Steps?

Post-processing steps include 5 steps—photo culling, basic editing, advanced editing, creative editing, and photo exporting, depending on the requirements. Once the photography session ends, the images go to the photography post-processing section, which mostly a photo editor does. S/he filters the picture-perfect images and starts retouching the best ones. The purpose of following the post-processing stage is to ensure optimal workflow for the users, who can be a photographer, an ecommerce business owner, a studio owner, or a fashion product marketer.

Step 1: Photo Culling

Photo culling or photo sorting is the initial step for a photography post-processing workflow. Either the client or the photographer does this part.

Step 2: Basic Editing

Basic photo editing consists of photo resizing, cropping, noise reduction, exposure and white balance adjustments, fine-tuning, and color correction. In this stage, the photos receive an enhanced look than the original one.

Step 3: Advanced and Creative Editing

Creative and advanced editing includes image retouching, background removal, shadow/reflection creation, color grading, and blurry image sharpening, for instance. This professional-grade editing is effective for ecommerce products. Such images are glamorous, highly-vibrant yet naturally appealing to look at.

Step 4: File Exporting and Delivery

Edited images are saved in widely accepted or client-required file format. Then, these are sent to the clients with image-sharing platforms like Dropbox, and Google Drive. The client may send for another revision or if everything is okay, s/he will send the images to distribution channels.

What are the Effects of Post-processing?

The effects of post-processing photography are as follows.

  • Enhances image quality
  • Develops visual storytelling
  • Builds a brand
  • Enhances customer satisfaction

Since consumer behavior has changed after the COVID-19 pandemic, customers’ dependency on images has increased significantly. A blog published in 2022 by Tim Jefferson at Retail Technology Review says that 75% of online shoppers rely on product photos to decide to purchase. Effects of post-processing have connected other factors as follows.

  1. Post-processing maintains image quality, cleanliness, and connection which consumers prefer to interact with.
  2. Professionally edited photos divert customer interaction and trust to augment brand awareness and online visibility.
  3. Visually compelling images increase engagement rate.
  4. In a survey conducted over 5000 email campaigns, Vero reported in 2023 that campaigns with images had a 42% higher click-through rate than campaigns without images.

What are the Effects of Post-processing in the Ecommerce Industry?

The effects of post-processing in the ecommerce industry include augmenting traffic, clicks, engagement, and conversion rates. The e-commerce industry, namely people from studio managers, studio coordinators, image asset managers, content producers, ecommerce managers to all the way to creative head tremendously benefit from high-quality images, hence they assign professional clipping paths, photo retouching, or photo editing companies to achieve these following goals.

  • Increase brand awareness and create a positive perception.
  • Drive higher engagement and satisfaction among clients.
  • Present products in the best light during online listings.
  • Adjust flat-looking images to create the desired mood.
  • Assist in developing visual stories, for example, the video game industry uses anti-aliasing techniques.
  • Highlight product features by eliminating flaws.
  • Create a vibrant unique perspective and surreal visualization to stand out in the competition.

What Post-processing Software Do Professional Photographers Use?

Professional photographers use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, DxO PhotoLab, Capture One Pro, and Skylum Luminar Neo as their primary photo post-processing software. This software incorporates highly functional latest features and technologies such as editing and retouching tools, layers and masking, selection, and cropping tools, AI-powered solutions, creative features (text overlays, graphics, collage making, etc), photo restoration, export, and sharing options.

Image enhancement software is accessible to all skill users. Beginners can use the free versions, learn photo editing through tutorials, and hone their skills. Advanced-level users and photo post-processing companies use a premium version for handling high-volume complex, precise, and commercial-standard projects.

What are Some Common Mistakes That are Made in Post-processing?

Some common mistakes that are made in post-processing photography include missing duplicate files, lack of details, improper cropping, over-editing, neglecting file requirements, and so on. Image editing solves those imperfections, and puts subjects in the best light. Some common photography mistakes are as follows.

1. Working on the original file

Working directly on the original file or raw file is a newbie mistake. If you need to revert changes, you won’t have any backup files. Moreover, an original copy is necessary to track the gravity of the edited file.

Solution: Prioritize duplicating files. First, become mindfully aware of saving a copy, and then it will become second nature to you like a professional photographer. While working on Photoshop, make a layer first.

2. Ignoring the surroundings

Emphasizing highlighting the subject/product may cause overlooking the other details. It leaves the surroundings and background distracting or the setup may include so empowering that the subjects are neglected.

Solution: Focus on mindful editing. Keep both the subject and the surroundings in mind. Declutter what drives viewers away from the subject.

3. Miscalculated cropping

Images with wide surroundings necessitate cropping, under precise calculation. Otherwise, you will see important parts get cut off, or composition rules are off-balance. These make the photo less engaging.

Solution: Leave some negative space in the picture. Pay attention to composition techniques during cropping. Refrain from cropping human models abruptly to maintain a natural appearance.

4. Issues with the human model

Aiming to make the most beautiful model, mistakes may create unrealistically flawless skin like plastic. The purpose of the human model is to create an emotion that leads to action.

Solution: Know the subject and its target audience. Make the facial and physical changes age-appropriate. For example, an aged model will have natural aging wrinkles, whereas a model for a fitness product will have muscle.

5. Image over-editing

Some common examples of over-editing are excess use of filters, imbalance sharpness, improper colors & saturation, missing shadow, overexposure, and underexposure, inconsistent white balance, and more. Such mistakes deviate images from the original intent. As a result, it hurts the brand’s identity and selling targets.

Solution: Instead of editing all at once, start small. Stay close to the original and change slightly.

6. Neglecting file requirements

Commercially edited images are used in different photo-distributing channels (online marketplaces, social media, company websites, etc). Therefore, maintaining the photo standard is essential. High-resolution files include many pixels, which can take longer to load on poorly structured websites.

Solution: Professional photo editing solutions maintain all these in one go. While doing it yourself, use widely used file formats (JPG, PNG, WebP) file formats for photo distribution, implement photo compression techniques, and maintain the platform-specific aspect ratio.

What Do Professional Photographers Consider When Post-processing Their Photos?

Professional photographers consider improving images aesthetically during post-processing, which mostly depends on the types of edits and techniques. They use photo editing software to implement image enhancement techniques, including resizing, color correction, color grading, exposure adjustments, noise and grain reduction, blurred image sharpening, and shadow creation. Once the image post-processing session ends, the quality and resolution of the photos improve.

Photo post-processing work is a complicated and lengthy process. Oftentimes, professional photographers find it difficult to balance their schedules. They depend on professional post-processing or photo editing companies. Such companies have ample skills, experience, manpower, technology, and other resources to assist photographers. Also, partnering with a photo editing company allows photographers to work flexibly and meet client satisfaction.

Does Post-processing Increase Performance?

Yes, post-processing increases e-commerce performance by increasing products’ charm on digital screens. According to a 2021 study by Adobe, 63% of shoppers said that high-quality product photos are essential when deciding whether or not to buy a product online. Post-processing is the key to achieving high-quality photos. It convinces viewers about the product’s quality, authenticity, and credibility.

In the fashion industry, high-quality visual content influences consumer behavior and purchasing decisions. It displays trendy, luxurious, and classy looks of fashion items such as jewelry, apparel, shoes, and other accessories (bags, perfume). Fashionista viewers get a clear, detailed, and convincing look, and high-quality photos guide them to buy more products.

Electronics and gadgets have complicated parts that viewers must know. Otherwise, viewer discrepancies may cause product returns. A 2021 study published in Power Reviews explains that 49% of consumers returned an ecommerce purchase because the item didn’t match the description. Post-processing makes sure products are well-displayed from all angles and match the ecommerce description well. Such photos decrease product returns and increase repeated clients.

The automotive industry greatly benefits from photo editing. A study by AutoTrader found that product listings with professional photos sell 32% faster than those with amateur photos. High-quality images drive this accelerated sales velocity. By showing the automotive features, colors, and designs from different camera angles navigates buyers to proceed to the purchasing journey.

What is the Best Way to Organize Photos for Efficient Editing? (10 Tips) https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/best-way-to-organize-photos/ https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/best-way-to-organize-photos/#respond Mon, 26 Aug 2024 10:50:48 +0000 https://offshoreclipping.com/?p=20482 Are piles of images overwhelming you? You are struggling when you need to find the essential ones. The solution is to use the best way to organize photos.

Organizing photos is a way to systematically put the images in a way so that every time you see them, you understand their differences right away. It can be done in many ways. This article will describe different ways to help you organize photos so that you can access and use them easily anytime.

Let’s get started.

What are the Benefits of Organizing Your Digital Photos?

Benefits of organizing your digital photos - Infographic

Nowadays, photos are a vital digital asset for every professional and business. So, they look for ways to safekeep images in the most convenient way possible. The purpose of organizing photos is that it saves time, cuts down on hassle, streamlines, and simplifies workflow. By organizing your digital photos, you can reap the following benefits.

Keep Track of Files

By organizing photos, you get to check all types of images that were stored in different locations, you can sort out the important and less important ones. By saving them on one single storage under different names, you can thus track your images whenever you need, instead of brainstorming where you have put them.

Free up Spaces

Systematic sorting out images helps you find a lot of memories, and purpose in your images. As a result, you can both accumulate them, freeing up spaces that those images occupy in different locations.

Photo Centralization

To ensure systematic working, everyone wants their equipment, resources, and necessary items accumulated as close as possible. The same goes for the photos, by organizing you can centralize all the photos into a single platform or storage and then sub-categorize them as you see fit. Still, you have them umbrellaed into one platform, that’s a big step to facilitate the work process.

Data Protection

Images stored here and there can risk the arbitrary access of unauthorized persons. If you are an ecommerce business owner or professional photographer, you don’t want the images to tarnish the reputation in the market. Data organizing plays a vital role in ensuring security.

Best Way to Organize Photos for Efficient Editing With 10 Tips

Best way to organize digital photos for efficient editing

These 10 best ways aren’t surefire ways to keep photos organized forever, but these are some most popular and efficient ones that professional photographers use. Here are those.

1. Create a Parent Folder to Pull All Images

Up until now, if you have stored photos on different devices and locations, you need all of those for different purposes from time to time. Wouldn’t it be better to centralize them? If this thought has come to your mind, it’s time to upgrade to solid storage.

For larger volumes of images, it’s better to seek a cloud-based photo storage solution:

  • Google Photos
  • Dropbox
  • OneDrive
  • Amazon Photos etc.

Otherwise, use an external drive. If you have enough space after storing all your images in one place, you can use it as a backup.

2. Make a Folder Structure to Organize Photos

The concept of folder structure is to make a serial or your images into a folder that will be based on purpose, events, or action. When you categorize the photo folders in this way, it gets easier to understand which folder you need to work on. Then they create sub-folders as required.

For example, large photography studios categorize their folders based on department or purpose, such as event photos, marketing photos, product photos, consistent naming, etc. So, the users only have access to the images they require to work on.

On the flip side, photographers working solo or with a small team categorize their images based on events or photo sessions, grouping, locations, etc.

3. Implement Advanced Image File Management Techniques

Basic folder management has many advantages with several risks and limitations, such as extensive libraries, limited searching, data loss risk, and so on. Advanced image managing techniques have become an essential solution that addresses all of those.

With features like facial recognition, cloud storage integration, metadata tagging, and editing tools in implementation during picture organization, you can overcome traditional limitations and make picture organizing easy, smooth, and protected from anywhere.

4. Choose Meaningful and Consistent Photo Names

Organizing photos doesn’t have any specific rule that is mandatory or suitable for everyone. You will find a wide variety among those who are in charge of the organizing process. One of which is consistent & meaningful photo naming.

So, what they do during naming is use slight differences so that the state of the photos is easily understandable. Here are some naming tips for that.

  • Capitalize the first letter of each word.
  • Avoid using special characters as they cause compatibility issues, but hyphens or underscores are okay.
  • Avoid using spaces inside photo naming.
  • Use keyword, date, month, location, etc for the main file.
  • Got a series of photos? Serialize those based on alphabets.

5. Add Image Metadata, Tag and Label

Has the simple naming or serial made dozens of folders and it’s more complicated now? If so, then you can make some changes in your organizing process. Here are some ways.

  • Metadata: Add details like time, date, location, camera settings, etc. You can find images quickly with such details as well as edit them for sub-categories.
  • Tags and labels: Use keywords as tasks for labels, so when you search for the keyword, regardless of organizing, only those images will be visible.
  • Digital Asset Management or DAM Software: A powerful image-organizing solution provider. It can auto-tag, allows customized metadata organizing, advanced searching easily, face recognition, storing, and so on.

6. Set Priority to Organize Your Digital Photo Albums

When you are organizing your image folders serially, do it on a priority basis. As mentioned already, you won’t be needing all the images. The ones you do need sensitive collections as well so that as soon as you take a glance, you understand what’s left.

I saw many photographers categorize their folders by naming them, such as ‘Edited’ for the final ones, ‘Need to Edit’ for the unfinished ones’ ‘Checking’ for the ones that are being sorted out, etc.

7. Use Digital Photo Organizing Software

Software or apps offer the finest and fastest solution for any task. As for digital photo organizing, every OS has a designated package. Those offer solutions from moderate functionality to full-fledged high-end solutions.

Digital Asset Management, to name one, handles a robust range of workflow relating to photos. Other than that, designated software is in the market available both in free and paid versions that benefit from automatic image backup solutions.

8. Make a Routine on Your Calendar

Truth to be told, organizing photos doesn’t work for a day or some days. It requires consistent and continuous activities. Why? The number of images will increase in the future, and you will need to create space for the upcoming images. So, develop a habit of checking up on your folders through recurring events.

You can make a routine and use Google Calendar-like tools to remind you of the task. Take tiny steps while checking weekly, quarterly, monthly, and yearly. Off chance you need to use any images, don’t delete them right away unless those are old and won’t have any purpose in the future.

9. Photo Culling or Deleting Unwanted Photos

While organizing, you will come across hundreds of pictures that aren’t necessary, some not now, some ever. The images that may not be required ever again, go to the trash folder, and the rest of the images to be archived.

Photo culling is the process of sorting images from a large selection, based on their look or perfection. If you do the culling from best to bad, then it is culling in, and if you cull from bad to best, then it is culling out.

Do a schedule review for the images that you have archived, because the archive is going to get bigger and you need to free up the space.

10. Edit the Photos Before Creating a Photo Album

When you are organizing all your photos and aiming for a photo album, you don’t want to go back and forth with it. So, a smart decision is to get all things done for an album. When there is a specific album, gather all the photos and make sure to edit them. Getting all the images edited is worth it because, next time when you visit the album, there won’t be any heavy workload left.

The task may look burdensome, if there are thousands or more photos for an album and you need to edit all those images, then hire professional photo editing service providers who offer secure, speedy, and reliable services. Also, this type of agency works with global clients, they are skilled enough to perform the job with precision.

Edit Your Photos Before Creating the Album

How to Further Improve Your Digital Photo Organization on a Computer or Laptop?

Further improve your digital photo organization on a computer or laptop

Now that you know different ways to organize your photos, let’s take a look at how to improve the process. Take a look at the following techniques to streamline the organizing process so that the collection for use becomes seamless and uninterrupted.

Step 1: Storing Pictures from Diverse Locations

You need to gather all the scattered pictures into one folder for accommodating. Now the challenge is how to gather all images from different locations, here are some solutions:

  • Old photos: If you have hard copies of old photos, scan them to get the digital copy.
  • Social photos: Most social platforms offer a way to download content. You can search the detailed guidelines through blogs or videos.
  • Auto-upload: For online storage apps, keep the ‘auto-upload’ feature on.
  • External drive: While connecting the external drive to your device, use  Lightroom or the Operating System to import photos.

Step 2: Create a Dedicated Editing Folder

You may keep all your raw images in one big one and edit the other ones. In my case, my organization processes mostly edited photos as it saves most of my time. Also, for unedited photos, make sure to use a non-destructive editing process.

Step 3: Have Cloud Storage Integration

Cloud-based services are the most reliable and top-notch ones to organize Google Photos. While using it, make sure to do a backup, and check accessibility, security, and regulations, so that you have control and flexibility of your photo managing process.

Step 4: Create Albums if Needed

If you have several events (family program, wedding, hangout, party, travel, etc) images, you can consider creating albums for thematic collections. This offers a structural way of organizing photos and the sharing process is rather fast, and simple.

How Do Professional Photographers Make Their Digital Photos Look so Good?

Due to passing the learning curves, veteran photographers know how to make a photo look good with a few tweaks here and there. However, the task is way more challenging for new photographers. To ensure digital photos have a good appearance, they take 2 types of conscious ways.

1. Preparation During Photoshoot

Preparation during photoshoot

There is a lot to prepare during a photoshoot session. It may take a few changes on some parts to make all the difference between a good photo and an e-commerce-worthy photo. Here are some common preparations listed down.

Setup Preparation

Regardless of the subject, your setup needs to be accurate. The right equipment, background, and scene help portray the scene accurately. If the scene is indoors, you will have much control over how it turns out.  Also, experiments with angles, composition, etc so that you understand the best view of the frame.

Frame to Focus

As your scenery is ready, you need to check if the focus is right. The camera’s autofocus mode does a pretty smart job, even so, during movements, it’s better to work with manual focus.

Color Correction

After positioning the camera frame, check the color, hue, and white balance and customize them to find the right look. Right color correction can help images create a surreal look, natural look even aesthetic look.

Lighting

The impact light has on an image is beyond imaginable. Not just highlighting the main subject, but also emphasizing which viewers should pay heed to. Here is a trick I know from somewhere to understand lighting well, is to follow paintings of old eras, such as Victorian painting.

2. Photography Post-Production

Photography post production

Photography post-production may seem like the last resort, but it’s the most important, similar to the photo-taking session. Nowadays, every photo you see online has some touchup before getting published. Natural photos don’t appeal as glamorous as the edited ones.

That’s why post-production works are mostly demanded by ecommerce business owners, professional photographers, studio photographers, art directors, and so on to prove their skills and expertise in front of audiences.

You don’t always have to do the work by yourself. Outsourcing photo editing services has a history of providing reliable, fast, and secure services. Check their samples, reviews, and turnarounds to find which agency better suits your needs.

Save Money with Photoshop’s AI: Change Wardrobe and Backgrounds in Model Photography https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/change-wardrobe-and-backgrounds-in-model-photography/ https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/change-wardrobe-and-backgrounds-in-model-photography/#respond Thu, 01 Aug 2024 11:50:38 +0000 https://offshoreclipping.com/?p=19903 Model photography is more than just a model and a photographer. It involves meticulous planning and multiple phases, particularly for professionals working with clients and a brief. Typically, it’s a team effort, requiring not only the photographer but also assistants, a creative director, hair and makeup artists, a stylist, retoucher, and sometimes even more crew members, depending on the shoot’s scale and complexity. And let’s not forget the essentials: catering, coffee, accommodations, transportation, and insurance.

Even if you’re planning an informal model shoot on a tight budget or none at all, many of the previously mentioned items can still be relevant, even if it’s just the photographer and model working together in a Trade for Print (TFP) agreement. Thankfully, Adobe Photoshop can now assist with many aspects of model photography. Adobe Firefly, a generative AI functionality included in the latest Photoshop subscription, is a game-changer.

Why Use AI in Your Model Photography

There are several compelling reasons to incorporate AI into your photo editing workflow for model photography. While planning remains an essential part of your shoot, Photoshop’s AI capabilities can significantly enhance productivity, creativity, and impact. The best part is that you’ll have access to most of the photography services needed for a professional model shoot. The only thing you’ll need to worry about is keeping your coffee cup full.

Save Money with AI

I know a successful portrait photographer who’s been in the business for several years. She shared how she has spent a lot of money over time purchasing hand-painted backgrounds for her subjects to provide creative choices for her clients, which helps her stay competitive. On top of that, there’s lighting equipment, wardrobe, and a host of other potentially expensive items we’ve already mentioned. The good news is, with AI, we can create all of this from scratch. Photographers working in model photography can potentially save thousands of dollars simply by incorporating Photoshop into their workflows now.

Maximize Efficiency and Save Time

I can’t stress enough how indispensable planning is in model photography. Effective planning not only streamlines the process but also saves valuable time. Think of all the hours saved that would otherwise be spent gathering clothing and accessories for the shoot. Or the back-and-forth between the model and photographer (in a small-scale shoot) about what to bring and what to wear. These details can be addressed in the initial planning stages with the understanding that artificial intelligence will be used to create the necessary effects for the shoot.

Flexibility in Shooting Locations (Backgrounds)

I’ve saved one of the most important details for last: shooting locations. This is always a crucial aspect of model photography because it directly affects the kind of photographic equipment, especially lighting, that will be needed. It can also quickly inflate the shoot’s budget if a studio needs to be rented because the photographer or model doesn’t have immediate access to a suitable location. But AI solves this problem in most cases. All you need is the right lighting, and you can easily change the backgrounds in post-production to include a variety of interior or exterior locations of your choice. The team need only settle on a space necessary for the actual photography.

A Photoshop AI Workflow for Your Model Photography

So, we’ve covered the three main ways AI can enhance your model photography: saving you time, cutting costs, and offering flexible location options. Now, let’s dive into a workflow that encompasses the entire photo editing process from start to finish.

We’ll tackle these sections in a logical order, beginning with skin retouching. Next, we’ll cover wardrobe changes and adding accessories. Then, we’ll explore changing out backgrounds. Finally, we’ll discuss expanding the frame using Photoshop’s Generative Expand feature to resize and change the image ratio, providing more creative options.

Workflow Part 1. Skin Retouching: Using AI for Removing Blemishes and for Makeup

Using ai for removing blemishes and for makeup

We’ll be using the above image for all our AI workflow tutorials. I chose an image that might be more challenging and time-consuming for skin retouching. If you’ve done skin retouching before, you know it often requires multiple Photoshop tools and methods to achieve the desired results, including selection tools, healing brushes, the clone stamp and patch tool, frequency separation, and more.

Additionally, I want to note that as of this writing, results can be mixed when applying new makeup to a model’s face and skin. However, rest assured that applying makeup and other effects will only become easier and offer more creative flexibility in future Photoshop updates.

Let’s get started!

Removing Blemishes

Step 1: Choose the Selection Brush Tool (keyboard shortcut L).

Step 2: Use the bracket keys [ ] to adjust the brush size as needed.

Step 3: Brush over all the blemishes. It may be more efficient to go section by section, starting with the forehead, to decrease processing time.

Removing blemishes step three

Step 4: Click on Generative Fill. Leave the text box empty. Then click Generate.

Removing blemishes step four

Step 5: Examine the results. You may have to go over some of the areas again if one of the three options isn’t acceptable. Notice that Photoshop has also created a new Generative Fill layer with the edits. If you make a mistake, you can drag and drop these layers into the trash and start over. After removing blemishes, these layers can be grouped together or flattened.

Removing blemishes step five

Step 6: Repeat these steps for the entire face. I recommend doing each cheek separately along with the chin. Feel free to use other Photoshop tools to fine tune but you’ll unlikely need them. But you will find the Remove Tool, another new AI feature, useful around the edges of the face if the Selection Brush Tool isn’t effective.

Removing blemishes step six

The entire process only took a few minutes. If you look in the middle of the layer stack, you’ll see a blank layer. I created this in order to use the Remove Tool along the edges of the woman’s right cheek.

Using Quick Mask to Retouch Skin

An alternative to using the Selections Brush Tool and the Remove Tool is Quick Mask Mode to perform retouching. In future Photoshop releases, this method or a more streamlined one will likely be the quickest and most effective way of retouching skin and adding makeup. We will omit showing how additional makeup can be added until this feature is improved, but you can definitely use it now to retouch skin.

Essentially, we’ll be replacing all the pixels of our model’s face using AI in Quick Mask Mode. Then we’ll simply invert the layer mask and paint in the effects. You can use this method in addition to the first way for a more refined look. But if you’re just looking to remove the blemishes quickly and prefer a more automated approach, this approach could work for you too.

Step 1: Press Q for Quick Mask. The Background layer will become highlighted.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step one

Step 2: Click on Set Foreground Color and change the Brightness (B) level to a value from 10 to 20. This will vary by image. For this example, we chose 20. Then click OK.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step two

Step 3: For Windows machines, press ALT + Backspace. The Whole screen should change colors.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step three

Step 4: Press Q once more for Quick Mask. The screen color should return to normal.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step four

Step 5: If done correctly, the Generative Fill box should be active at the top of the page. Click on Generative Fill.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step five

Step 6: Now, we enter in text to tell Photoshop’s Generative AI what to create. What we want perform is a retouch. So we’ll enter “Perform a professional skin retouch. Remove acne and blend skins tones for smooth transitions.” What you enter is up to you and what you want to achieve. And you may have to experiment.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step six

Step 7: Click Generate. As before, you’ll have three options to choose from. You may have to generate several versions until you find one that has the correct skin tones. Remember, we’ll be painting in the effect so ignore how the rest of the face is being transformed. We’re only concerned with the skin.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step seven

Step 8: Choose the best version. By luck, we’ll go with the first version generated. It’s way overdone as a retouching effect, but since we’ll be painting in the effect, we can control how much of the effect is applied and where.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step eight

Step 9: Click on the white mask on the Generative Fill layer. Press Ctrl + I to invert the mask. The mask should now be black and the original image should be showing once more.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step nine

Step 10: Press B for the Brush tool. And with a Soft Round brush set to a Flow of around 2 percent, gradually paint over the face to cover the blemishes. Toggle between white and black as the foreground colors to apply or erase the effect as you go.

Note: make sure you’re only painting on the black mask at all times.

Using quick mask to retouch skin step ten

Most professionals would probably consider this method to be a little heavy-handed since we’re losing a lot of the skin’s original texture. But if the look is okay with your model, it’s by far the quickest way to edit multiple images if there’s a lot of intense skin retouching to do.

Workflow Part 2. Wardrobe Changes and Accessories

This is where things start to get fun! The sky’s the limit when it comes to what Photoshop can create for wardrobe changes and adding accessories in your model photography. There are multiple tools available for these steps. In the past, I’ve mainly used the Lasso tool to make selections for Generative AI, but for this tutorial, we’ll focus on using Photoshop’s new Selection Brush Tool to show how easy it is to use.

We’ll start with the edited image from the first example, as it represents natural-looking skin. We’ll make three simple changes to transform this image: first, we’ll create a blue dress, then we’ll add earrings, and finally, a hat—all using Photoshop’s Generative AI.

Step 1: Press L and select the Selection Brush Tool.

Wardrobe changes and accessories step one

Step 2: Brush over all the pixels where we want the new dress to appear. Use the bracket keys to increase and decrease the brush size as needed.

Wardrobe changes and accessories step two

Step 3: Now, choose any of the selection tools, such as the Lasso Tool. This will create the typical selection we’re accustomed to. While it might seem like an unnecessary step (why not just start with the Lasso Tool or any other selection tool?), the Selection Brush Tool offers additional features we won’t get to cover here. Since it’s a new Photoshop feature, I want to demonstrate its ease of use.

Wardrobe changes and accessories step three

Step 4: Click on Generative Fill once more and enter a description for the kind of blue dress we prefer. We’ll enter “Create a fashionable blue dress made of silk.” We’ll then click Generate.

Wardrobe changes and accessories step four

Step 5: Choose the best option. You may have to click Generate a few times to get the best results.

Wardrobe changes and accessories step five

Step 6: Let’s use the Selections Tool Brush once more and create earrings on the model’s right ear. The steps are the same. Make the selection, choose another selection tool, and enter text to tell Photoshop what to create by clicking on Generate.

Wardrobe changes and accessories step six

Step 7: (Optional). All my options displayed the earring as being in focus, but the model’s ears are slightly out of focus due to the depth of field fall-off. To blend the earring in seamlessly, I applied a Gaussian Blur to the earring layer. You may find that you’ll have to apply other effects too to make your new creations blend in. But this can be done using all the usual Photoshop tools.

Wardrobe changes and accessories step seven

Step 8: Let’s add a hat. Using the same steps as before, starting with the Selections Brush Tool, paint over the pixels and create the perfect hat.

Wardrobe changes and accessories step eight

Worrying about expensive wardrobe and accessories is a thing of the past! With Photoshop’s Generative AI, you can create all of this from scratch and transform your model photography in extraordinary ways.

Wardrobe changes and accessories final edit

If you save your files as PSD files, you’ll always be able to go back and re-edit your images, basically having the ability to change wardrobe and accessories again according to your model photography needs.

Workflow Part 3: Changing Backgrounds

The ability to easily change backgrounds in your model photography is a game-changer, to say the least. No more expensive backgrounds or rented studios. As long as you have the necessary lighting for the photography itself, it doesn’t matter where you’re shooting your model. You can change the background in post-production to fit the needs of the brief or mood board.

There are usually three basic steps to changing backgrounds. First, select the model using any of the selection tools. Second, invert the selection to select the background. Third, use Generative AI to create the desired background. We’ll walk you through these steps again, using the same tools and techniques we’ve already employed for retouching and changing the wardrobe.

Step 1: Select the model. We’ll simply use the Select Subject feature at the top by clicking on it. The model will be selected as indicated by the marching ants.

Changing backgrounds step one

Step 2: The subject will be selected as indicated by the color overlay. Now, choose the Lasso Tool to access the masking options.

Changing backgrounds step two

Step 3: Right-click inside the selection and choose Select Inverse.

Changing backgrounds step three

Step 4: Click on Generative Fill once again and enter the text that you want to create a new background. Then click Generate. Here’s what we entered for the description: “Peaceful lake background slightly burred as if taken by a high-quality portrait lens.”

Changing backgrounds step four

Step 5: As of this writing, it’s common to see a halo effect when Photoshop inserts backgrounds. It’s best to zoom in on your images to check for these. If you spot them, like we have around the edges of the model’s head in this example, you can easily fix them using Generative Fill. Create generous selections around the trouble spots using the Lasso Tool, click Generative Fill again, and leave the text field blank.

Changing backgrounds step five

Now with a new and cleaned up background, you’re free to create even more backgrounds as options or move on to the other images in the set.

Helpful Tip:

Currently, there are resolution limits to generated images in Photoshop. If you’re working on a high-resolution image, a helpful tip is to slightly blur the background so that essential details don’t become distractions. You can also choose to enhance the resolution, an option available in each of the three generated options. Other workarounds include making multiple smaller selections around the subject and generating the background bit by bit, but this can be time-consuming and might not produce the desired results.

The best advice is to get everything right in-camera, with the idea that you’ll use AI to change wardrobe and backgrounds during post-processing. Planning is always key, even if you’re using technology to make significant changes later.

Workflow Part 4: Extending the Canvas Using Generative Expand

You may find yourself needing to expand your canvas for various reasons. Perhaps you had limited space for photographing your model and want to create a more open image. Maybe, due to poor planning or unforeseen circumstances, you couldn’t get the right shots and now need to expand the image to include more negative space or even more of the model. We can easily accomplish these adjustments using Photoshop in your model photography projects. With Photoshop’s Generative Expand feature, you can compensate for some of the shortcomings in your model photography by using AI.

For this example, let’s take the wardrobe change image and expand the canvas downward to a 4×5 ratio. This will allow us to make additional wardrobe changes and make the image more suitable for display on social media platforms like Instagram. Then we’ll make any adjustments necessary to the wardrobe by using prior methods.

Step 1: Click on the Crop tool.

Extending the canvas using generative expand step one

Step 2: Change the Ratio to 4×5.

Extending the canvas using generative expand step two

Step 3: Choose Generative Expand from the drop-down menu.

Extending the canvas using generative expand step three

Step 4: Click and drag the bottom handle and expand the canvas to the desired size.

Extending the canvas using generative expand step four

Step 5: Click on Generative Fill. Leave the text box empty to start if you like the background you’re working with. Click Generate. Choose from one of the three options. Keep clicking Generate to get more options.

Extending the canvas using generative expand step five

With a newly sized image ratio, you can now change the wardrobe and the background to create completely different looks for your model photography set.

For comparison, here’s our starting image once again.

Photoshop offers powerful tools to remove wrinkles, smooth backdrops, and fixed backgrounds.

This guide will show you step-by-step how to smooth out any background, making your photos look professional and polished.

Why Would You Need to Blur the Background of an Image?

Blurring the background of an image can significantly enhance its overall impact and professionalism. Here are key reasons why a smooth, blurred background is essential:

  • Enhance focus on the subject: A blurred background draws attention directly to the main subject, making it stand out and capturing the viewer’s interest.
  • Create depth and dimension: Blurring the background adds depth to your image, creating a three-dimensional effect that makes the subject pop.
  • Reduce distractions: Smoothing the background eliminates distracting elements, resulting in a cleaner, more professional image that keeps the viewer’s attention where it belongs.
  • Artistic effect: A blurred background can add a creative and artistic touch to your photos, giving them a soft, dreamy look that enhances the overall mood and feel.
  • Improve aesthetics: A smooth background improves an image’s overall aesthetic appeal, making it more visually pleasing and polished.

How to Smooth a Background in Photoshop: Step-by-Step

Step 1: Open Your Image in Photoshop

To start, open Photoshop and load the image you want to edit by navigating to File > Open. Choose an image with a clear subject and a background that could benefit from smoothing. High-resolution images work best, allowing for finer detail and better overall results.

What is Compound Clipping Path? Purpose, Process, and Importance in E-commerce Business https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/compound-clipping-path/ https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/compound-clipping-path/#respond Fri, 29 Mar 2024 08:32:33 +0000 https://offshoreclipping.com/?p=19363 A compound clipping path is a vector graphic technique. Used as a clipping mask, the compound clipping path process is used for cropping backgrounds and adding multiple paths to make complicated shapes and designs.

Professional photo editors use compound paths to create intricate designs, and shapes, and isolate subjects from their surroundings. It is a non-destructive vector editing technique that allows for different manipulations.

The ecommerce industry, fashion and beauty product manufacturing and marketing companies, advertising and graphic designing, and print media need compound clipping paths for high-volume projects. They mostly rely on professional clipping path companies to ensure quality, volume, and faster processes.

What is a Compound Clipping Path in Illustrator?

A compound clipping path is a vector-based process where several subpaths are merged into one, creating transparent areas where they overlap. Compound clipping used as a clipping mask hides the visible parts of an object. This method is applied to create intricate designs or shapes, and separate subjects.

The process of the compound path includes creating holes in shapes, combining multiple paths into one, and supporting the clipping mask. As a result, it enables the creation of intricate designs and vector artworks.

Professional photo editors make the compound clipping paths by using photo editing software such as Adobe Illustrator. The compound clipping path is useful for creating designs with cut-out effects, such as typography with transparent parts, brand logos, etc.

What is the Purpose of the Compound Path in Illustrator?

The purpose of the compound path in Adobe Illustrator is to isolate intricate objects, shapes & design, and create a transparent background. Being a non-destructive editing process, compound clipping paths offer plenty of other benefits as follows.

  • In the compound path, overlapping paths create holes. It allows us to create complex shapes and transparent parts. Logos, icons, and intricate designs need a compound path process.
  • Compound clipping ensures the holes remain even if the background changes. It preserves the transparency and appearance of the object consistently.
  • It allows combining different shapes and simplifying them by uniting them into one. It benefits subjects that have intricate and complicated shapes or overlapping elements.
  • A compound path assists in creating clipping masks. It allows control over the parts that need to be shown or hidden.
  • With compound paths, different effects can be applied to ensure uniform effects.
  • When used as a non-destructive editing workflow, compound paths retain the originality of the shapes. During the application of resizing, shadow creation, manipulation, and color changes, those shapes remain as one single unit.
  • With compound paths, users ensure uniform and scalable shapes with visually interesting designs that grab the viewer’s attention.

How to Make a Compound Clipping Path in Illustrator?

The step-by-step process of the Adobe Illustrator compound clipping path is as follows.

Step 1: Draw Shapes

Compound clipping path in illustrator - Step 1 shape drawing

First, draw a big shape and a few small shapes separately. Make sure the smaller ones can be placed on the big one when needed.

Step 2: Select the Objects

Use the Selection Tool (V) to select all the shapes or images.

Step 3: Select the Compound Path

Step 3 select the compound path

Once you have made the selection, click Object from the top menu bar. A panel will open up. Go to the Compound Path and select Make.

Note: For the shortcuts process, use Ctrl+8.

You will see the transparent-looking compound path where they overlap.

How to Release a Compound Path in Illustrator?

To release a compound path in Adobe Illustrator, select a Compound Path that you will release. Go to the top menu and click Object. A panel will open up. Select Compound Path from there and click Release. Or, use the keyboard shortcut Alt+Shift+Ctrl+8.

How to Combine Objects of the Compound Path?

To combine objects or adjust their appearance, follow these steps.

Step 1: First, select Compound Path by using the Selection Tool (V).

Step 1 first, select compound path by using the selection tool v

Step 2: Then go to the Window and select Attributes

You will see there are 2 ways. Those are:

  1. Non-Zero Winding Fill Rule
  2. The Even-Odd Fill Rule
Combine objects of the compound path - Step 2

Step 3: Toggle between them. You can use either of them to make changes in the compound path, as both of these use mathematical rules for filling or keeping transparent the areas.

Why is Compound Path Important in Ecommerce Business?

The compound path is important in the e-commerce business for creating clean product images, ensuring visual consistency, enabling versatile uses, and improving SEO performance.

Creating Clean Product Images

Compound paths create clean and professional-looking images which is a primary requirement for ecommerce product photos. By isolating the products from their background, the compound masking process extracts clear cutouts with sharp edges and complicated shapes.

Ensuring Consistency

The compound path maintains a consistent approach for e-commerce brands. It provides clean visual elements which is a powerful marketing material for branding. By posting uniform appearances on online publishing platforms, brands uphold their reputation and establish domination in online competition.

Enabling Versatile Online Use

E-commerce photos need several manipulation techniques to ensure a high-quality and professional appearance. Compound paths ensure a non-destructive and adaptable process and produce scalable output that aligns with the website, social media, and print media usage.

Improving Website Performance

High-quality images improve online store and e-commerce website performance. Images created with the compound path process help in small file sizes (in vector graphics). This type of image file improves webpage loading speed and contributes to SEO performance.

What is the Difference Between Compound Path and Group Illustrator?

The key difference between compound path and group illustrator is that compound path contains only paths, whereas groups contain any objects. Other differences between group illustrator and compound path are as follows.

Topic Compound PathGroup illustrator
ContentContains only paths Includes any type of object
In-between interactionPaths interact with each other during intersections to create holes Objects don’t need to interact with each other
CombinationCompound paths share strokes, shadows, fills, effects, etcStroke and fill properties are independent
UsageNeeded when creating complex shapesRequired when organizing artwork
Application When an object’s group needs to share the same fill and stroke attributesWhen groups containing standard or compound paths, compound shapes, or other groups

What is the Difference Between a Compound Path and a Compound Shape?

The main difference between a compound path and a compound shape is that the first one is graphic, and the latter one is illustrator-based. Compound paths are used on a single path, but compound shapes are used on a group of paths.

A compound path combines several paths into one object. Compound shapes are complicated features, built upon the concept of compound paths.

Compound paths focus on the interactions of paths to create holes. Compound shapes allow editable interactions between shapes and retain the original shapes as components for more flexible editing.

Compound paths are used for creating cutouts, logos, and intricate designs. Compound shapes are used for developing complex shapes which may need shape modification later.

How Clipping Mask is Connected with Compound Path in Illustrator?

The clipping mask is connected with the compound path in Illustrator through the clipping path. Clipping mask work needs a clipping path and a compound path can be used as a clipping path. It is especially useful for creating complex masking effects, where working with a single clipping mask is difficult.

A clipping mask is a non-destructive editing technique in vector graphic software that limits an object’s visibility. It masks the object below, making the area inside the clipping path visible. The path has to be a vector object, not an image and there is freedom for the object below as it can be a vector drawing or raster photo.

The clipping mask can only be one object. When masking is needed for objects with multiple parts and holes in them, a compound path is used. By using a compound path as a clipping mask, you can achieve intricate masking effects that would be difficult or impossible with a single, simple clipping path.

How to Outsource Photo Editing for Your E-commerce Business? https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/outsource-photo-editing/ https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/outsource-photo-editing/#respond Mon, 22 Jan 2024 09:14:20 +0000 https://offshoreclipping.com/?p=19332 Around 75% of people depend on product photos when buying online. But raw pictures from the camera aren’t enough to win over the customers. Proper editing is necessary to make the product images more appealing.

However, image editing requires a long time, and adjusting to your busy schedule takes a lot of work. Outsourcing the photo editing is the only way to save you from this hassle.

This service is particularly beneficial for professional photographers, eCommerce business owners, social media influencers, and individuals who lack the time for image editing. It’s a time-saving solution that allows you to focus on other aspects of your work while ensuring your photos are professionally edited.

As per Statista, the average number of products (4.95) bought through online orders. But what’s the reason behind product return? When buyers don’t get the same product shown online. Businesses that outsource image editing get amazing and pixel-perfect in-house retouching.

For example, fashion brands or social media savvy businesses like Everlane or Glossier rely on social media platforms to showcase their product line and build brand identity. High-quality and aesthetic product visuals guide other fashion brands and photographers on how to shoot and retouch their products.

From contrast to lighting transitions, background colors, shadows, or angles, everything shares a story, demonstrates its lifestyle, and gives users confidence in the products they use.

An effective product photography style guide includes several key things, including:

  • Contrast, color saturation, or clarity.
  • How to arrange products with live models or using ghost mannequins.
  • Details around lighting or how to represent realistic shadows and reflections.
  • Perfect product angles.
  • Fix imperfections like exposure levels or color balance.
  • Fulfill every online platform’s photo requirements.

Offshore Companies vs AI-Software/AI App/Automated Tools

How to Reduce Clipping Path Costs?

To reduce clipping path costs, use consistent lighting during shooting, cull your images and group them before editing, avoid add-ons during budget constraints, and outsource to a single photo editing company for long-term benefit.

Reducing clipping path cost

Use Consistent Lighting During Shooting

Make sure the photos have a consistent and uniform lighting setup during the photoshoot, regardless of angle. A well-lit frame shows the product clearly without any complications, so the clipping process requires fewer adjustments. Dark or inconsistent lighting requires advanced-level techniques to be implemented, increasing the post-production cost.

Group Similar Image Types

Cull your images based on complexity, types, and editing requirements before sending them to clipping path companies. That extra task would cost some bucks and make the processing faster during batch processing. Simple images wouldn’t cost much. Over-complicated images would cost a bit higher however, if you order a bulk project from an agency, you would get a bulk discount.

Avoid Unnecessary Add-Ons

While receiving a clipping path, stay focused on the core task instead of adding more work to the process, such as improving the colors or using complex retouching with the clipping process. One service at a time and only what you need is the technique to save costs. Brands and large businesses often take several services, which is their way to cut costs. But the same measure can be detrimental for a new online store owner.

Stick to Working with a Single Vendor

Frequently changing photo editing vendors will lead you back to square one, no matter how low-cost or varied of service they offer. The safest way to ensure quality, consistency, and cut costs is to build up a lasting relationship with a company. That company understands your brand guidelines, work style, volume, emergency, target audience requirements, and several iterations are all it takes for you to reap the following benefits.

  • High-quality images for any post-production service, including clipping paths.
  • Photo consistency, faster turnaround, and project security are guaranteed.
  • Service-oriented pricing calculation within your budget and bulk discount.
  • Improved efficiency, reduced overhead cost, and negotiating time.
  • Few to no revisions are required.

Clipping path pricing varies by a hundred bucks in the USA vs offshore. Who Are Clipping Path Service Provider Company?

A clipping path service provider company is an agency or business that is professional at producing clipping paths from images for use in advertisements, marketing, eCommerce platforms, and so on.

A clipping path is a photo editing technique that uses vector paths or shapes to separate the subject or specific elements from the background of 2D images. The main purpose of using the clipping path technique is to create isolated image cutouts that can be used on different backgrounds, combined with other images, to create an illusion, for digital marketing, print media advertisement, and so on.

Why Is It Important to Choose the Right Clipping Path Service Provider?

Outsourcing clipping path services has become a necessity for almost every industry, be it photography, fashion, advertising agency, eCommerce, graphics design studio, real estate, or other businesses.

However, the clipping path technique is a time-consuming photo editing process. That’s why outsourcing the clipping path task can be a time-saving strategy for businesses, particularly those with a large number of images to edit.

While picking out a clipping path service for your clipping path task, make sure you choose the right outsourcing company because:

11 Factors to Consider When Choosing a Clipping Path Service Provider

Choosing the right clipping path service provider is essential to ensure you are getting perfect clippings for your business or project needs and succeeding in your goal, whether it is to attract customers in your eCommerce store, conduct advertising, or other purposes.

Here, we’ve listed 11 factors that you must consider when choosing a clipping path service provider:

1. Quality of Work

The first and most important factor that you must consider when selecting a clipping path service provider is their work quality. To make your photographs look professional, you need clipping paths that have precise cutouts, smooth edges, in-depth detailing, and so on.

So, check out their portfolio to get a sense of their level of expertise based on previous work experience and projects. You can also ask them to provide you with sample work so that you can get a visual assurance of their quality of work and evaluate the skills of their graphic designers.

If you need complex clipping paths, such as images with hair, fur, shadow, reflection, holes, curves, cutouts, and so on, it’s best to go for free trials. This will help you identify whether their quality of work meets your business needs and standards.

2. Pricing for Photo Editing

The best clipping path service provider for you is the one that offers you perfect clipping path cutouts at the best price. However, going for the cheapest option may not always be a good idea, as there might be a chance of compromising the quality.

Hence, when choosing a clipping path company, pay attention to their pricing structure. Companies can charge per image, offer customized packages, or have discounts on bulk orders. Also, make sure the pricing is transparent. This will help you avoid unexpected costs and manage your budget effectively.

3. Turnaround Time and Work Speed

Another important factor that you must consider is the turnaround time. Since each company operates at a different pace, turnaround times also differ. If your business or project has a flexible timeframe, then the turnaround time won’t be a matter of major concern.

However, if you need fast delivery, you need to choose a clipping path service that can meet your deadlines without compromising quality.

It’s worth mentioning that the pricing structure varies depending on the turnaround time. That is, the cost of editing goes up as work speed goes up. So, make sure to check out the rush fee as well to get your projects delivered on time within your budget.

4. Communication

Communication is another key factor that should be on your priority list when choosing a clipping path service provider. Outsourcing companies that provide easy and clear communication opportunities are the best fit for your projects because you will be able to communicate your requirements to them effectively.

Also, make sure the company you are choosing has a fast response time. Reputable and professional clipping path providers usually prefer to respond quickly to queries, concerns, or project updates. This demonstrates the reliability and efficiency of their service.

5. Company Reputation and Reviews

When choosing a clipping path service provider, it is crucial to consider the company’s reputation. A reputed company offers reliable, high-quality service. They prioritize clear communication, ethical practices, transparency, and other factors to maintain their standing in the marketplace and ensure customer satisfaction.

Reviews from former clients serve as social proof. So, you should also read client testimonials to get a sense of the company’s service quality. Look for testimonials on third-party review sites, such as Trustpilot, Google reviews, Sitejabber, and so on, or simply search for company reviews using the search engines.

Make sure to emphasize the reviews where clients state their experience working on complex projects, attention to detail, turnaround time, customer support, or how strictly the company maintains the deadline.

6. Security and Confidentiality

Another important factor in choosing a clipping path services provider is the company’s data security measures and confidentiality policies. Check out the company’s rules for using and storing your data. Enquire about their encryption protocols, servers,  storage facilities, and other measures that fall under maintaining data security.

In addition, inquire about who within the company will have access to your data and how they plan to protect its confidentiality. Check whether they offer a non-disclosure agreement to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

A reliable and trustworthy company will always provide clear guidelines on how they use customer data, how long they retain the data, and how they dispose of it after the project is completed to maintain the authenticity of their service.

7. Expertise and Specialization

When choosing a clipping path provider, take into account their industry-specific expertise. Every industry has its own set of clipping path requirements. On that note, hiring industry experts ensures that the service will meet your expectations, as they are familiar with the style preferences, trends, and other requirements of the industry.

When researching a company, look into which industries they mostly work for. Also, inquire about the expertise of their team. A team with diversified talent can fulfil a wide range of editing needs. For instance, you can get from basic clipping paths to complex clipping path services that include masking, outlining fine textures, transparent or reflective items.

8. Customer Support

Another important considerable factor is their customer support. A company offering good customer service ensures that they value their customers and are willing to solve queries and other issues at their earliest convenience.

Check out the channels through which customer service is available (phone, live chat, email, online form, etc). Also, note down their availability hours; for instance, some companies provide 24/7 customer service while others are available only on weekdays for a specific duration.

You can look for reviews online to learn about the speed of their responsiveness and how well they manage customer concerns. This will help you determine whether you will have a positive experience working with them in case your project requires regular updates or rapid problem-solving.

9. Flexibility and Customization

An industry expert clipping path service is confident in taking on challenges. They offer flexibility and customization options to meet the unique needs of individual customers. For example, your project needs masking and basic retouching, along with a clipping path. So, you will have to look for companies that have a customized request option apart from their basic service templates.

So, when choosing a clipping path service, make sure they allow for customized requests and provide a wide range of other services to meet all of your editing needs.

10. Software and Technology

As the main purpose of choosing the best clipping path service is to get precise image cutouts, it’s important to consider the software and technologies they use for editing. An efficient clipping path service provider uses professional editing tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity Designer, PhotoDirector, and other software. Also, they make sure the software they use is the latest version to maintain the quality of their service and provide perfectly cutout clipping paths.

Apart from the editing software, it’s important to inquire about the project management tools they use to keep track of large-scale projects. Usually, a professional clipping path service provider uses tools like Trello, Asana, Basecamp, Nifty, or Hive to keep the tasks organized, track progress, provide updates, and manage deadlines.

11. Guarantees and Revisions

Another important factor that you must consider when hiring or choosing a clipping path service company is their satisfaction guarantees and revision policies.

A professional company offers satisfaction guarantees to give customers confidence in their high-quality service and meet the client’s expectations.

As a part of satisfaction guarantees, they offer revision and refund policies. This feature allows customers to request modifications in case the final outputs are not satisfactory to them. A reputed clipping path service always provides concise revision policies where they clearly mention the number of revisions they offer, the timeframe for revision request applications, and refund policies.

Additional Considerations When Choosing a Clipping Path Service Company

There are some other factors that you should consider as well, which are:

  • Free Trial or Editing Sample
A good or reputed clipping path service company offers a free trial option or editing samples so that customers can evaluate the quality and proficiency of their work before committing to their service. Instead of simply claiming to be the expert, they prefer to demonstrate their abilities. So, choose the service provider who offers the free trial option to see whether their service meets your standards and expectations.
  • Location and Time Zone
Considering the location and time zone is important to ensure effective communication. If you and the service providers are from different time zones, real-time communication may not always be possible. However, if the service provider offers a 24/7 communication facility, then the differences in time zones won’t be a big deal. Also, considering the location is important if you need to provide physical copies of your images to the clipping path company. If the work is totally online based, you can choose a service provider from any location.
  • Flexibility in File Formats
A professional clipping path service provider is proficient enough at delivering clipping paths in various file formats. Depending on the need and use of the clipping paths, such as print media, digital advertisement, eCommerce store, product design, and so on, they should be capable of providing JPEG, TIFF, PNG, or PSD files.
  • Payment Methods
To avoid issues regarding payments, check whether the service providers support multiple payment methods. A reputed company offers secure payment gateways to make the transaction process convenient, which include credit cards, debit cards, wire transfers, PayPal, and so on.
  • Legal Agreements and Contracts
Another important factor is to check out the terms and conditions of the contract. A reputed and trustworthy clipping path company provides clear and concise legal agreements to ensure both parties are on the same page regarding the expectations of the projects.
  • Scalability
Considering scalability is important in case you plan for a long-term commitment. Check whether the company is capable of handling bulk orders or large projects while maintaining turnaround time and the quality of their service.
  • Other Post-Processing Services
Apart from clipping paths, you may need other services such as background removal, photo masking, photo retouching, color correction, shadow formation, manipulation, or other services. So, choose a service provider that offers a comprehensive photo editing service so that you can manage your projects from a single provider.
  • Cultural Understanding
If your project contains cultural references, then it’s best to take the cultural knowledge of the service providers regarding your target audience into consideration. This will help to ensure the edited photos align with the audience’s perspectives and do not create any misunderstanding or controversy.
  • Environmental Impact
If you are conscious of the environment, look for clipping path providers who share your values. Companies are becoming aware of eco-friendly practices to make the world a better place. You can check whether the service provider follows sustainable practices, such as using low-energy, eco-friendly disposal methods, and other responsibilities.

Photoshop Toolbar and Tools for Beginners – Updated Features in 2024 https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/photoshop-cc-toolbar-tools/ https://offshoreclipping.com/blog/photoshop-cc-toolbar-tools/#comments Wed, 23 Aug 2023 10:50:14 +0000 https://www.offshoreclippingpath.com/?p=4477 If you are new to Adobe Photoshop (and even if you are not) the plethora of editing tools available can be quite daunting. This article explores each tool and how to use them.

But first, let’s look at Photoshop itself. It is a very in-depth application. Photoshop was designed for photo editing, image creation, and graphic design. The software provides many image editing features for raster (pixel-based) images as well as vector graphics. It appeals to photographers, graphic designers, video game artists, advertising, and meme designers.

With depth comes complexity. So that a lite version called Photoshop Elements was created for those users who did not need all of that image power. And in 2013, Adobe came out with Lightroom which was designed specifically for photographers.

A Beginners Guide: Photoshop Toolbar and Tools

Photoshop Toolbar and Tools

Photoshop has many useful keyboard shortcuts. In this case, instead of right-clicking on the tool, you can press “W” and then “Shift-W” to toggle between the two tools.

Another useful feature in Photoshop CC is that when you select a tool, a little video pops up showing how the tool works. It’s a nice way to reinforce the fact that you have the correct tool.

How To Customize Photoshop Toolbar

From the Edit menu, you can select the Tools… option. The Customize Toolbar window displays to allow you to customize the toolbar depending on your workflow.

Photoshop Customize Toolbar

You can:

  • Group tools together
  • Hide little-used tools
  • Display a tool on the Photoshop Toolbar instead of it being nested
  • Change the keyboard shortcut for a tool
  • Save the customized Photoshop Toolbar to a preset to use at another time

The Photoshop Toolbar can be displayed as a single row or a double row by selecting the two arrows at the top of it.

You can also grab the top bar and drag the Photoshop Toolbar wherever you wish on the Photoshop canvas. We will look at the Photoshop tools in no specific order.

Check here what Photoshop has brought to the table for the photoshop enthusiasts on different platforms!

Features and enhancements came with the April 2022 (v23.3) release of Photoshop Desktop –

In previous versions of photoshop, the copy-pasted layer used to be rasterized, and the functional fidelity was not maintained. Because of this, editing the text layer was an awful experience.

In the new version of photoshop, one can move text layers from Illustrator with different typographic properties and paste them as editable text while maintaining functional and visual fidelity.

Edge enhancement in Sky Replacement

Edge enhancement is another important improvement in Photoshop. In the newly added Sky Replacement feature, this edge enhancement brought some changes –
